Internet is a computer network system that comprises of a worldwide network system of computer that uses the TCP or IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission as well as exchange. The Internet is a worldwide and publicly accessible series of interconnected computer networks. Being a correlated computer network, Internet it channelizes data by packet switching with the support of using the standard Internet Protocol. Internet protocol is a data-based protocol which is used for communicating data across a packet switched internet work. Packet switching or packet switched internet work is a special communication systematic arrangement in which packet or a formatted block of data is expelled between nodes over data links divided up with other traffic. Internet Protocol is also considered as a network level protocol in the Internet Protocol suite which is the proper arrangement of communication protocols which follow up the protocol flock on which the Internet as well as other major commercial networks work. Protocol stack is acknowledged as specific software carrying out of a computer networking protocol suite.

Being a 'network of networks', the Internet also comprises of millions of small academic, domestic, governmental, and business networks. These networks carry several important information as well as services like file transfer, online chat facility, electronic mailing facility, and the interlinked web pages including many other additional sources of the World Wide Web or WWW. The World Wide Web is often called as the Web. It is mainly a system of hypertext and interlinked data accessed by the way of the Internet. Being a global process, the World Wide Web or WWW was introduced in the year 1989 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

Nowadays, the Internet facilities are becoming more stronger. All the technical specifications in the Internet system, make the system diversified. The Internet is essentially defined by its act of interconnecting facilities as well as routing policies. Let's have a brief idea about Internet Protocol and its major layers of protocols-

There are three layers of protocols in the Internet system. These layers are-

• At the basic level, the Internet Protocol describes the packets which carry blocks of data from one node to another. In this level of Internet protocol, the ICMP or Internet Control Message Protocol also remains as it is applied to control to make signals and to make reports.
• At the next level of Internet protocol, the TCP and UDP are exist. TCP is referred as Transmission Control Protocol whereas the UDP is referred as User Datagram Protocol. These two types of protocols are used to transmit data. TCP creates a virtual connection but UDP is a connectionless data transport system in which the process of re-sending of lost data can not be processed.
• Lastly the application protocols placed on the top of UDP and TCP protocol that occupy the layers of 5,6 and 7 of the OSI model.
